Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before renewal.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time.

If you cancel, your access will continue until the end of your current paid subscription period. No further payments will be taken after cancellation.

5. Pricing

Prices are displayed at the time of purchase.

We may change subscription pricing in the future.

Any changes to subscription pricing will not affect your current active subscription period.

Where a renewal price will increase, we will provide at least 30 days' notice before the change takes effect.

6. Refunds

If you are purchasing as a consumer, you may have statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws.

Refund requests may be made within 14 days of purchase.

However, because SkillEmber provides immediate access to digital content, learning materials, and online services, your right to a refund may be reduced or lost once you begin using the service, where permitted by law.

When considering refund requests, we may take into account factors including:

  • Access to course content
  • Course progress
  • Completed courses
  • Certificates earned
  • Time spent using the platform

Refund requests will be assessed fairly and in accordance with applicable law.

7. Learning Content and Certificates

SkillEmber provides educational content intended to support professional development and learning.

Certificates issued by SkillEmber confirm completion of the relevant course or learning experience.

Certificates do not:

  • Represent professional accreditation
  • Guarantee competence
  • Guarantee employment opportunities
  • Guarantee promotions or salary increases
  • Create any professional qualification unless explicitly stated

We reserve the right to revoke certificates where we reasonably believe they were obtained through misconduct, fraud, abuse, account sharing, or breaches of these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All content available through SkillEmber, including but not limited to:

  • Courses
  • Challenges
  • Assessments
  • Learning materials
  • Graphics
  • Branding
  • Logos
  • Text
  • Videos
  • Interactive experiences
  • Software

is owned by or licensed to SkillEmber and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Your subscription grants a limited, non-transferable licence to access and use the content for personal learning purposes only.

You may not:

  • Copy course content
  • Reproduce course materials
  • Republish content
  • Record courses
  • Distribute materials
  • Resell content
  • Create derivative works based on SkillEmber content
  • Use content for commercial training purposes without written permission

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Share your account with others
  • Allow others to access your subscription
  • Attempt to bypass platform security measures
  • Interfere with the operation of the platform
  • Reverse engineer platform functionality
  • Use automated tools to access content without permission
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems or accounts
  • Engage in fraudulent or abusive behaviour
  • Misrepresent your identity

10. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts where we reasonably believe a user has:

  • Violated these Terms
  • Shared their account
  • Engaged in fraudulent activity
  • Attempted to compromise platform security
  • Misused certificates
  • Abused the platform or other users

Termination may result in loss of access to courses, certificates, and membership benefits.

11. Availability of the Service

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

From time to time, SkillEmber may be unavailable due to:

  • Technical issues
  • Third-party service failures
  • Circumstances beyond our control

We reserve the right to modify, replace, suspend, or discontinue any feature, course, or part of the service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SkillEmber shall not be liable for:

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to SkillEmber during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
